Last Week of School...Happy Summer!

Esprit Third Grade's last week of school was busy and fun!  On Tuesday, we enjoyed a school wide field day.  Students were put in groups with other classes and participated in a variety of activities.  These included lacrosse, kickball, ultimate Frisbee, parachute, and many more.  Everyone ate lunch outside and enjoyed music being played in the pavilion.  In the afternoon we visited the dunking tank where Miss Deb graciously volunteered to be dunked.  After many, many tries she finally got wet!  Once one person dunked her it seemed to become an easy thing to do!

It has been a terrific last week and a terrific year for us all!  We have enjoyed so many wonderful learning experiences together and have had a whole lot of fun doing so!  We will miss each and every one of your children, but we are confident they are all well prepared to be fourth graders. Thank you for all of your support this year and also for sharing your remarkable children with us.
Happy Summer!

Two Field Trips and Good Weather!

We had a great week filled with two field trips! Be sure to ask your child about our trips!

At the Shelburne Museum, the children participated in the Passport to Learning.  They had the opportunity to go to a variety of workshops and explore life a long time ago.  They went to a spelling bee, hauled cargo on the Ticonderoga, and bartered at the General Store. We all even had the chance to ride the carousel a few times!

At Shelburne Farms we learned about Ecosystems by exploring the pond and the forest.  We had the chance to observe salamanders and frogs and had a great time at the Children's Farmyard with the farm animals!

Thank you very much to our parent chaperones!  We appreciate you and your willingness to join us on these two adventures!  Just a reminder that Spirit Week is next week.
Monday-Crazy Hair Day
Tuesday- Field Day and 3rd Grade Book Swap
Wednesday- Board Game Day
Thursday- Tropical Day
Friday- Stuffed Animal Day

We Love the Jog-a-thon!

The PTO Jog-a-thon is always one of the highlights of the year!  Today was no exception!  Team Esprit was on the move at 8:45, running laps in the Davis Park neighborhood.  We had a great group of runners!  Each lap was a half mile.  Be sure to ask your child how many laps he or she completed this morning!  The fun continued with lunch outside and a dance party with a DJ.  We also had our last Mix-It-Up day for the year. Miss Niles' class met up with their fourth and eighth grade buddies to play board games and Miss Deb's class created and colored mandalas with their buddies!
